Metropolitan Alexander visited the Holy Spirit Cathedral in Minsk and met with the Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Belarus

August 7, 2024. Minsk. At the invitation of Metropolitan Veniamin of Minsk and Zaslavl, Patriarchal Exarch of All Belarus, a delegation of the Orthodox Church of Kazakhstan, headed by Metropolitan Alexander of Astana and Kazakhstan and with the participation of the Ambassador of the Republic of Kazakhstan to the Republic of Belarus Timur Mekeshevich Zhaksylykov, visited the Holy Spirit Cathedral.

The guests, accompanied by Metropolitan Veniamin, learned the history of the temple and also had the opportunity to venerate the relics stored in the cathedral.

In front of the miraculous Minsk icon of the Holy Mother of God, the Head of the Metropolitan District offered up fervent prayers for the archpastors, pastors, monastics and laity of the Orthodox Church of Kazakhstan, for the peace and prosperity of the Kazakh land, the President, authorities, army and people of the Republic.

Then, in the chambers of the Patriarchal Exarch, the hierarchs met with the head of the Kazakh diplomatic mission.

The participants of the meeting positively assessed the dynamics of the development of Kazakh-Belarusian relations, noted the high intensity of various joint state and public events.

An exchange of views took place on a wide range of issues concerning the importance of traditional religions in the life of modern society.

Metropolitan Alexander emphasized that today in multinational and multi-confessional Kazakhstan, thanks to the policy of the leadership of the Republic, headed by President K.-Zh.K. Tokayev, civil stability and peace are maintained, and the hierarchy, clergy and believers of the Metropolitan District support the initiatives of the state authorities aimed at preserving moral values and overcoming the extremist and terrorist threat from destructive pseudo-religious movements.

At the end of the conversation, the participants exchanged wishes for health and success in their work.
