Metropolitan Alexander of Astana and Kazakhstan celebrated the Divine Liturgy at the Trinity Church of the Nativity Cathedral in Almaty.
Concelebrating with His Eminence were: Bishop Vianor of Ural and Atyrau; dean of the parishes of Almaty, rector of St. Nicholas Cathedral, mitered archpriest Valery Zakharov; rector of the Alma-Ata Church in honor of the icon of the Mother of God “Joy of All Who Sorrow” Archpriest Evgeniy Vorobyov, rector of the Nativity Cathedral Archpriest Alexander Gaichenya, rector of the Church in the name of Righteous John of the Kronstadt village of Zhetygen, Alma-Ata region Archpriest Vadim Alekseev, dean of the Ili church district Archpriest Alexander Zyryanov , Chairman of the Society of Orthodox Doctors of Kazakhstan, Archpriest Anatoly Izmerov, Priest Pyotr Andrusenko, Head of the Metropolitan’s personal secretariat, Hieromonk Prokhor (Endovitsky); head of the administrative secretariat of the Head of the Metropolitan District, Priest Georgy Sidorov; priest Maxim Bely, priest Maxim Idrisov, keymaster of the Kazan Cathedral priest Georgy Rublinsky; Protodeacon Nikolai Grinkevich, Protodeacon Vladimir Syrovatsky, chief physician of the Orthodox Medical Center named after St. Luke (Voino-Yasenetsky), Deacon Alexander Jojua, Hierodeacon Stefan (Popov), Deacon Sergius Slesarchuk.
The choir of the Cathedral of Christ the Savior in Almaty sang under the direction of E. Skorova.
His Eminence offered prayers for the increase of love and the eradication of all hatred and malice.
The sermon on the sacramental verse was delivered by Priest Georgy Rublinsky.
At the end of the service, the Head of the Orthodox Church of Kazakhstan addressed those gathered with a word of archpastoral teaching.
