The social department of the Petropavlovsk Diocese provides assistance to flood victims

From the beginning of April to the present, with the blessing of Archbishop Vladimir of Petropavlovsk and Bulaev, the diocesan social department has been providing assistance to those affected by large-scale floods in the North Kazakhstan region.

The clergy and Orthodox believers are involved in eliminating the consequences of river floods, working with evacuated residents of the region in temporary accommodation, providing them with spiritual, moral and material support.

Social department volunteers pay special attention to purchasing food packages, bottled water, diapers, household chemicals, as well as food for victims and organizing a shelter for pets.

37 victims of the water disaster were accommodated in the dormitory of the humanities and technical college, the director of which is the manager of the Petropavlovsk Diocese. The evacuees were provided with food, water and basic necessities.

The diocese gave 35 pairs of children's shoes, clothes, basic necessities, and warm clothes to 20 victims. Also, people in need received 650 liters of drinking water, food, and personal hygiene products. At the Ascension Cathedral, in collaboration with the Spiritual Administration of Muslims of Kazakhstan, a center for the distribution of humanitarian aid among the affected population was organized and deployed.

In all churches of the Petropavlovsk Diocese, prayers are offered for the health and strengthening of the spiritual and physical strength of people affected by the flood.

With the blessing of Metropolitan Alexander of Astana and Kazakhstan, the social department of the Alma-Ata diocese collected and sent humanitarian aid to Petropavlovsk, which will be distributed to people affected by the flooding.
