
Participants of the IV International Church Singing Olympiad for Children and Youth from Ekibastuz were awarded diplomas of winners

April 21, 2024. Ekibastuz. The Sunday school of the Iversko-Seraphim Cathedral hosted an awards ceremony for the participants of the IV International Church Singing Olympiad for Children and Youth, which was held on December 17, 2023.
The event was organized on the initiative of the leadership of the children's department of the Moscow Synodal Choir with the support of the Church and Public Council under the Patriarch of Moscow and All Rus' for the development of Russian church singing.
Children from Russia, Belarus and Kazakhstan took part in the creative competition.
The Olympiad is dedicated to developing interest in the art of church singing and testing knowledge in the main areas of church singing: the liturgical charter, types of liturgical chants, the main singing texts of the church year, the interpretation of complex expressions of the Church Slavonic language, the basics of bell ringing.
The dean of the Ekibastuz church district, the rector of the Iversko-Seraphim Cathedral, Archpriest Igor Popov, presented the laureates of the competition from Ekibastuz with certificates and memorable gifts.
In his welcoming speech, Father Igor noted the importance for the younger generation of studying the singing heritage of the Orthodox Church and wished the children new success in mastering the art of church music.
The laureates of the competition from the Pavlodar diocese were:
1st place
• Molodtsova Anastasia (Sunday school “Faith, Hope, Love”, Ekibastuz);
• Okhotina Eva (youth club “Skif” of the Iversko-Seraphim Cathedral, Ekibastuz);
• Minakova Ekaterina (youth club “Skif” of the Iversko-Seraphim Cathedral);
• Ivanova Ulyana (youth club “Skif” of the Iversko-Seraphim Cathedral).
II place
• Ivanov Yaroslav (youth club “Skif” of the Iversko-Seraphim Cathedral);
• Kristina Arikyan (Sunday school “Faith, Hope, Love”);
• Basalaeva Svetlana (Sunday school “Faith, Hope, Love”).
Alexey Voloshin (Sunday school “Faith, Hope, Love”) was awarded a certificate for participation.
