Congratulations from the Head of the Orthodox Church of Kazakhstan on the Great Victory Day

May 9, 2024. The head of the Orthodox Church of Kazakhstan, Metropolitan Alexander of Astana and Kazakhstan, congratulated the people of Kazakhstan on the anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War:

Dear people of Kazakhstan! Brothers and sisters!

I cordially congratulate you on the 79th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War!

This holiday, full of joy and sorrow, is truly a national celebration - a triumph of the spirit, courage and bravery of our people, who selflessly defended the honor and freedom of the Fatherland. Our fellow Kazakhstanis took part in all the battles, along with representatives of other republics.

As we celebrate this memorable date, we remember that it was achieved at the cost of incalculable suffering, sacrifices and hardships. The disasters that befell the Motherland in the distant forties of the last century united into one large family of people of different nationalities and religions, different views and beliefs, who in a single impulse stood up to defend the Fatherland.

Recalling with gratitude the feat of those who, at the cost of their lives, military and labor achievements, brought peace to our land and withstood the sorrowful time of enemy invasion, we are called upon to preserve the greatest achievement of the Victory - peace and harmony.

On this sacred day, in all churches of the Orthodox Church of Kazakhstan, a prayer of gratitude is performed for the deliverance of humanity from the fascist yoke and special commemoration of the deceased soldiers who died sufferingly during the Great Patriotic War.

On this sacred and festive day, I wish you all peace, health and prosperity.
