A “Memory Lesson” dedicated to Victory Day was held at the Central Sunday School

On May 7, 2024, with the blessing of Metropolitan Alexander of Astana and Kazakhstan, a “Memory Lesson” dedicated to Victory Day in the Great Patriotic War was held in the Church Meeting Hall at St. Nicholas Cathedral in Almaty.

The program was prepared by teachers and students of the Central Sunday School.

The event was attended by teachers, students and their parents, as well as parishioners of St. Nicholas Church.

School director G.V. Cherepanova addressed the audience with a welcoming speech, who congratulated everyone on the holiday of Easter and the 79th anniversary of the Victory of our people in the Great Patriotic War.

The hosts were Alexey Sobolev and Kira Vasilenko. The school choir performed the following songs: “Holy War”, “Cranes”, “Dugout”, “Katyusha”, “Three Tankers”, “Victory Day”. Choir director V.A. Alferov and soloist Daria Klim presented the musical work “Cuckoo”. A student from the junior group, Serafima Mamonova, sang the song “A soldier is walking through the city.”

During the lesson, young artists recited poems about the war by Soviet poets Yulia Drunina, Dmitry Kedrin and Bulat Okudzhava.

At the end of the event, teachers and students took pictures with portraits of their relatives and friends - participants in the Great Patriotic War.
