Congratulations from the Head of the Orthodox Church of Kazakhstan to Archbishop Anthony (Moskalenko) on his name day

July 23, 2024 is the day of remembrance of St. Anthony of the Caves, Kyiv, the head of all Russian monks; the name day of Archbishop Anthony (Moskalenko).

The head of the Orthodox Church of Kazakhstan, Metropolitan Alexander of Astana and Kazakhstan, sent His Eminence a congratulatory address, which reads:

Your Eminence, dear Lord!

Please accept my congratulations on the day of remembrance of your heavenly patron, St. Anthony of the Caves.
At a young age, having received an education at Krasnoyarsk State University and then at the Moscow Theological Academy, you heeded the call of the Chief Shepherd Christ and accepted the cross of serving the Holy Church.
By God's Providence, you were destined to bear various church obediences. You performed pastoral service in the churches of the Khmelnitsky diocese, were the rector of the Vladimir Cathedral in Kyiv, and the administrator of the affairs of the Ukrainian Exarchate.
By the will of the hierarchy of the Russian Orthodox Church, you were elected Bishop of Pereyaslav-Khmelnitsky, vicar of the Kiev diocese. Then you headed the Chernivtsi and Bukovina diocese.
In 1991, you became the head of the newly formed Ural diocese. For more than three decades, looking at the example of the apostolic feat of your predecessors, who zealously labored in the work of evangelical evangelism in the lands of Western Kazakhstan, you carried out your ministry "in purity, understanding, patience kindness, in the Holy Spirit and in sincere love" (2 Cor. 6:6).
Your many years of selfless work aimed at affirming the ideals of goodness, mercy and strengthening friendship between peoples in our society have been recognized with high church and state awards, as well as the titles of honorary citizen of the West Kazakhstan region, the cities of Uralsk and Atyrau.
On this special day for you, I bring you prayerful wishes for health, strength, “peace and joy in the Holy Spirit” (Rom. 14:17).
I offer prayers to the saints who shone in the land of Kazakhstan for your health and prosperity. May the All-Merciful Lord grant you strength of soul and body and His gracious help on your life’s path.
