Resolution of His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Rus' on the report of the Astana and Alma-Ata Diocese

September 6, 2024. His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Rus' familiarized himself with the report of the Astana and Alma-Ata Diocese of the Kazakhstan Metropolitan District for the past year and sent his Primate's resolution to the Head of the Orthodox Church of Kazakhstan, Metropolitan Alexander of Astana and Kazakhstan.

The document, in particular, states:

- Your Eminence, with warm feelings I greet you, the clergy and the flock in the significant year of the 25th anniversary of the establishment of the Astana and Alma-Ata Diocese.

It is obvious to the naked eye that over the past year, intense work has been carried out in the diocese with zeal for the cause of Christ. In addition to the main duty of evangelistic gospel, the diocese consistently carries out diverse social, charitable, youth, informational and educational work in various sectors of society. However, nothing should limit us in more active expansion and development, especially in charitable volunteer work, involving parishioners and youth in this work.

I positively evaluate the results of your work and the work of your assistants in arranging life in the diocese entrusted to your care in 2023. Without exaggeration, we can say that today the Astana diocese in Kazakhstan can serve as an example for many other dioceses of our Church.

His Holiness Patriarch Kirill noted:

- The Orthodox community of the country is an active part of society, bearing witness to peace and harmony, for which I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude to you and all Orthodox Christians living in the vastness of the Great Steppe.

May the Lord bless your further work for the benefit of Holy Mother Church.
