Taldykorgan welcomed the relics of the blessed nun Matrona of Moscow

October 26, 2024. Taldykorgan. The relics of the holy blessed nun Matrona of Moscow, visiting Kazakhstan with the blessing of His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Rus', arrived in the Taldykorgan Vicariate.

The relic was delivered by Bishop Claudian of Taldykorgan, Vicar of the Astana Diocese.

The delivery of the relics is supported by the Apostol public foundation headed by President G.G. Sosnovsky.

The visit is timed to coincide with historical dates - the 25th anniversary of the formation of the Astana and Alma-Ata Diocese, the upcoming 15th anniversary of the approval of the canonical status of the Metropolitan District.

The ark with the relics of Blessed Matrona was transported to the Church of the Archangel Gabriel, where the revered relic was met by clergy and numerous believers.

To the singing of the troparion to the righteous woman "the blessed nun Matrona, wise in God", the relics were brought under the vaults of the cathedral and installed in the center of the church, after which the Divine Liturgy began, led by Bishop Claudian.

His Grace was assisted by: Archpriest Georgy Karapetyants, rector of the Church of the Abalatskaya Icon of the Holy Mother of God "The Sign" in the village of Karabulak; Archpriest Pavel Anishchenko, cleric of the Cathedral of the Holy Apostle and Evangelist John the Theologian in the city of Taldykorgan; Priest Vitaly Panteleev, rector of the Holy Trinity Church in the city of Tekeli; Priest Alexander Matlashov; Priest Igor Lazgiev; Priest Nikolai Doronin; Priest Alexander Vavulidi; Priest Rustik Nurgaliev; Priest Alexander Bogdanov; Protodeacon Alexander Mokiy and Deacon Rustik Yakubov.

The chants of the Liturgy were performed by the choir of the Cathedral of St. John the Theologian under the direction of Yulia Lazukina.

According to the verse after the sacrament, priest Alexander Matlshov read out the address of Metropolitan Alexander of Astana and Kazakhstan on the occasion of the bringing of the relics of Blessed Matrona of Moscow to Kazakhstan.

At the end of the Liturgy, the glorification of the blessed nun Matrona took place before the ark with her relics.

Bishop Claudian congratulated the clergy and all participants of the celebrations on the bringing of the relics of the saint especially revered in the Orthodox world to Taldykorgan, and addressed the worshipers with a word of edification.

After the end of the service, the veneration of the relics of the blessed nun Matrona began. A large number of pilgrims from nearby settlements gathered to offer prayers to the saint of God.

The relic will be in the Taldykorgan Vicariate from October 26 to 27.
