In Kostanay, the patronal feast of the Iversko-Petropavlovsky Convent was prayerfully celebrated

October 26, 2024 - celebration in honor of the Iverskaya Icon of the Mother of God.

With the blessing of Metropolitan Alexander of Astana and Kazakhstan, the secretary of the Kostanay diocese, Hieromonk Gennady Burdyuzha, in concelebration with Hieromonk Methodius (Chulkov), celebrated the Divine Liturgy at the Iversko-Petropavlovsky Convent in the village of Oktyabrskoye, celebrating its patronal feast.

The following prayed at the service: Abbess Nika (Otroshchenko) with the sisters of the monastery, employees of the diocesan administration, parishioners of the church and pilgrims from the city of Kostanay.

The choir of the Constantine and Helen Cathedral sang under the direction of T. Zhebrak.

The Liturgy ended with the glorification of the Most Holy Theotokos before Her Iveron Icon, which is the only evidence of the existence of the Kustanai Iveron Monastery, closed by the Soviet authorities in 1925.

The Secretary of the Kostanai Diocese congratulated the Mother abbess and parishioners on the patronal feast day and addressed the congregation with a sermon.

With the blessing of Metropolitan Alexander of Astana and Kazakhstan, Hieromonk Gennady presented diocesan medals and letters of gratitude to the beautifiers of the revived monastery.
