The regional stage of Christmas educational readings took place in the Pavlodar diocese

December 20, 2023. Pavlodar. With the blessing of Archbishop Varnava of Pavlodar and Ekibastuz, the opening of the regional stage of the International Christmas Readings on the topic: “Orthodoxy and domestic culture: losses and gains of the past, image of the future” took place.

The conference was attended by: deans, rectors and clergy of churches, monastics, heads of diocesan departments, employees of the diocesan administration responsible for social, educational and missionary activities in parishes.

The moderator of the event was the head of the diocesan Department of Religious Education and Catechesis, Priest Artemy Zhdanov.

The following reports were made at the plenary session:

• “Spiritual and moral literature in the life of society” – priest Maxim Alekhine, rector of the Panteleimon Church in the village of Aktogay;
• Youth and the Church in the Modern World” – the head of the Youth Department of the diocese, Priest Vladimir Bryukhanov;
• “Orthodoxy and domestic culture: losses and gains of the past, the image of the future” – the rector of the Trinity Church in the village of Zhelezinka, Hieromonk Pavel (Kuzyakin) and the cleric of the Iversko-Seraphim Cathedral in the city of Ekibastuz, Priest Dmitry Minakov;
• “Man in the Digital World” – rector of the St. Nicholas Church in the city of Pavlodar, Priest Dmitry Arkaev;
• “Orthodoxy and culture” – priest Andrey Andreev, rector of the Alexander Nevsky Church in the village of Irtyshsk.

During the work, the participants of the scientific forum had the opportunity to discuss various problems of modern church science and exchange their findings.
