Patronal feast of the St. John of Kronstadt Church in the village of Zhetygen

On January 2, 2024, on the day of remembrance of the righteous Archpriest John of Kronstadt, with the blessing of Metropolitan Alexander of Astana and Kazakhstan, Bishop Gennady of Kaskelen, administrator of the affairs of the Orthodox Church of Kazakhstan, celebrated the Liturgy in the St. John of Kronstadt Church in the village of Zhetygen, Alma-Ata region, celebrating the patronal holiday.

Concelebrating with His Eminence were: the rector of the Church in honor of the Epiphany of the Lord in the village of Malovodnoye, Archpriest Nikolai Tkachenko, the rector of the Church in the name of Righteous John of the Kronstadt village of Zhetygen, Alma-Ata region, Archpriest Vadim Alekseev; rector of the St. John the Baptist Church in the village of Guldala, Archpriest Georgy Kharlov, rector of the Alexander Nevsky Church in the village of Saimasai (Alexandrovka), Priest Roman Klyuev, Hierodeacon Afanasy (Kozel).

Orthodox believers from the village of Zhetygen, residents of surrounding settlements and pilgrims from Almaty prayed in the temple.

The choir of the Cathedral of Christ the Savior in the southern capital sang during the service.

At the end of the Liturgy, glorification of the righteous shepherd of Kronstadt was performed.

Bishop Gennady warmly congratulated the rector, the clergy and parishioners of the church on the day of the patronal feast, after which he delivered a sermon.
