A missal that belonged to Metropolitan Joseph (Chernov) was transferred to the Church History Museum of the Kazakhstan Metropolitan District

February 19, 2024. Alma-Ata. A working meeting between Metropolitan Alexander of Astana and Kazakhstan and Archbishop Sevastian of Karaganda and Shakhty took place in the spiritual, cultural and administrative center of the Orthodox Church of Kazakhstan.

During the conversation, the Administrator of the Karaganda Diocese handed over to the Primate of the Orthodox Church of Kazakhstan a missal that belonged to the confessor of the faith and ascetic of piety of the twentieth century, Metropolitan Joseph (Chernov).

The liturgical book, which was the personal property of Bishop Joseph, was printed in the city of Petrograd in 1916. On the front flyleaf of the publication there is an inscription made in the elder saint’s own hand: “Property of Metropolitan Joseph.”
