The XII Sretensky Ball took place in the southern capital (+VIDEO)

February 25, 2024. Alma-Ata. With the blessing of Metropolitan Alexander of Astana and Kazakhstan, the XII Sretensky Ball, dedicated to the celebration of Orthodox Youth Day, was held in the assembly hall “Le Dome” of the southern capital.

The event was organized by the Youth Affairs Commission of the Metropolitan District with the support of the Apostol public foundation (president - G.G. Sosnovsky).
The festive program was attended by: members of Orthodox youth organizations, Sunday school students and their parents, parishioners of city churches, dance groups of the city of Almaty.

The honorary guests of the event were: the head of the commission for youth affairs of the Kazakhstan Metropolitan District, Bishop Ignatius of Aktobe and Kyzylorda, the vicar of the Astana diocese, Bishop Claudian of Taldykorgan, acting. Rector of the Alma-Ata Theological Seminary, head of the information and publishing department of the Metropolitan District, Archpriest Evgeny Ivanov; President of the public foundation "Apostle" G.G. Sosnovsky; Honored Worker of Culture of the Russian Federation, Head of the Culture Department of the Kazakhstan Metropolitan District L.E. Goricheva; clergy of Almaty churches.

Bishop Ignatius addressed those present with a welcoming speech. Bishop Claudian conveyed words of congratulations to the Orthodox youth from the Head of the Kazakhstan Metropolitan District, Metropolitan Alexander of Astana and Kazakhstan.

The evening's program included traditional dance numbers - Viennese waltz, minuet and polonaise, for which rehearsals were held in advance with the participation of a professional choreographer, polka, lezginka and various dance master classes.

During the break between the dances, everyone present was offered refreshments.

For diligent work in the field of church youth ministry, a jubilee medal in honor of the 140th anniversary of the establishment of the Turkestan diocese was awarded to: the clergyman of the Kazan Cathedral of Alma-Ata, Priest Georgy Rublinsky, the secretary of the commission for youth affairs of the Kazakhstan Metropolitan District, E.V. Zvonary; active participants in the Orthodox youth movement of Almaty M.G. Nekrasova, A.V. Panchenko and M.K. Okhrimenko.

At the end of the ball, a group photo was taken.

More than 300 people took part in the gala event.
