The “Broad Maslenitsa” concert took place in the capital of Kazakhstan

March 17, 2024. Astana. On the week of cheese fasting (Forgiveness Sunday), the remembrance of Adam’s exile, with the blessing of Metropolitan Alexander of Astana and Kazakhstan, the “Broad Maslenitsa” concert was held on the square in front of the Assumption Cathedral.

The event was organized by the public association “Russian Cultural Center” with the support of the Embassy of the Russian Federation in Kazakhstan, “Russian House” and the Astana diocese.

Spectators of the concert were representatives of ethnocultural and public organizations, clergy and parishioners of the capital's churches.

The dean of the Astana church district, Archimandrite Sergius (Karamyshev) and the head of the “Russian House” K.P. Vorobiev addressed all those present with words of congratulations.

Those gathered were offered a vibrant concert program consisting of song and dance numbers, a theatrical skit, various competitions and games. The following performances performed for the audience: the folk Cossack choir “Stanichniki named after V. Ivanov”, the folk ensemble of Russian songs “Razdolye”, the ensemble “Rainbow”, the ensemble “Bee”, the folk ensemble “Duslyk” of the Tatar-Bashkir center “TAN”, animators from the studio “Lim- po-po."

Over 2,500 thousand people took part in the festivities.

At the end, there was a tea party, during which about 5 thousand pancakes were distributed to the guests of the event.
