Congratulations from the Head of the Kazakhstan Metropolitan District on the Nauryz holiday

In accordance with ancient traditions, Nauryz is celebrated in Kazakhstan on March 21-23. Since 2001, it has received the status of a public holiday. The Head of the Orthodox Church of Kazakhstan, Metropolitan Alexander of Astana and Kazakhstan, congratulated the people of Kazakhstan on Nauryz:

I cordially congratulate all residents of the blessed land of Kazakhstan on a special day in the calendar of our country - Nauryz!

The bright holiday of Nauryz, which came from ancient times, has become a truly national celebration of spring renewal and fertility, unity and friendship of our multinational people.

Since ancient times, this day was especially revered in the vastness of the Great Steppe, as a bright day of creation and the beginning of the Eastern New Year. Nauryz has acquired particular significance in the modern history of Kazakhstan as a symbol of unity between the citizens of our country and the renewal of centuries-old traditions.

Representing solidarity, peace and mutual understanding, Nauryz today plays an important consolidating role in the life of our country; it is equally dear to all Kazakhstanis.

On this solemn holiday, I wish you all health, welfare, success in your work, peace and prosperity to our common home - blessed Kazakhstan.

The Head of the Orthodox Church of Kazakhstan sent congratulations on Nauryz to the President of Kazakhstan K.-Zh.K. Tokayev, the country's leadership, parliamentarians, akims of regions and cities.
