On Sunday, Metropolitan Alexander celebrated the Liturgy at the Representative Office of the Kazakhstan Metropolitan District in Moscow

August 25, 2024 – the 9th week after Pentecost, the afterfeast of the Transfiguration of the Lord.

Metropolitan Alexander of Astana and Kazakhstan celebrated the Divine Liturgy in the Church of the Holy Martyrs Vera, Nadezhda, Lyubov and Sophia at the Patriarchal Metochion of the city of Moscow – the Representative Office of the Kazakhstan Metropolitan District.

His Eminence was assisted by: a cleric of the Representative Office, Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor Hegumen Agafangel (Gagua), assistant to the Head of the Metropolitan District Hieromonk Anthony (Drobiazko), head of the postgraduate department of the General Church Postgraduate and Doctoral Studies named after Saints Cyril and Methodius, Deacon Arseny Grigoryan and clergy of the Metochion.

The following prayed at the Liturgy: Deputy Head of the Secretariat of the Deputy Chairman of the Government of the Russian Federation N.V. Parshikova; employees of the Representative Office, the founders of the Patriarchal Metochion and parishioners of the church.

The liturgical chants were performed by the church choir under the direction of Anna Rozhnova.

The Liturgy ended with the glorification of the feast of the Transfiguration of the Lord.

The head of the Kazakhstan Metropolitan District congratulated the clergy, monastics and laity on Sunday and the afterfeast of the Transfiguration of the Lord, after which he addressed the congregation with an archpastoral sermon.
