On the 25th anniversary of the establishment of the Astana and Almaty diocese of the Orthodox Church of Kazakhstan, Metropolitan Alexander of Astana and Kazakhstan, the clergy and believers were congratulated by the Chairman of the Government of the Russian Federation Mikhail Vladimirovich Mishustin:

Please accept my heartfelt congratulations on the 25th anniversary of the establishment of the Astana and Almaty diocese of the Kazakhstan Metropolitan District.

For a quarter of a century, the Astana diocese, like the entire Kazakhstan Metropolitan District, has made a great contribution to the preservation of Orthodox traditions, strengthening interethnic and interfaith ties, and has contributed to the development of friendly, partnership and allied relations between Russia and Kazakhstan. The diocese fruitfully cooperates with representatives of public organizations, figures of science, education and art. It is impossible to overestimate the enormous efforts of the clergy aimed at charitable and educational activities, the implementation of social initiatives and projects, the restoration of churches and monasteries.

An important event is the bringing of the great Russian shrine - the relics of Blessed Matrona of Moscow, who is revered throughout the world, to the monasteries and churches of Kazakhstan as part of the anniversary events. This will contribute to the further consolidation of our peoples, connected by a common history, bonds of brotherhood, mutual respect and trust.

Special words of gratitude - to Metropolitan Alexander of Astana and Kazakhstan, who heads the Metropolitan District of the Russian Orthodox Church in the Republic of Kazakhstan. Your many years of archpastoral service, good deeds, care for believers are worthy of respect and sincere words of gratitude.

I wish the participants of the celebrations and all Kazakhstanis peace, prosperity, success in good deeds and endeavors.
