October 5, 2024 is the day of remembrance of the Prophet of God Jonah and the Holy Martyr Benjamin, Bishop of Uralsk.

Metropolitan Alexander of Astana and Kazakhstan celebrated the Divine Liturgy in the Church of the Exaltation of the Cross in the Karasu microdistrict of Almaty.

His Eminence was assisted by: Administrator of the Orthodox Church of Kazakhstan Bishop Gennady of Kaskelen, Vicar of the Astana Diocese Bishop Benjamin of Talgar; Dean of the parishes of Almaty, Rector of the St. Nicholas Cathedral Archpriest Valery Zakharov; Rector of the Almaty Church in Honor of the Icon of the Mother of God "Joy of All Who Sorrow" Archpriest Yevgeny Vorobyov, Key Keeper of the Church of the Exaltation of the Cross Priest Roman Burdukov, Cleric of the Church of the Exaltation of the Cross Hieromonk Levkiy (Ershov), Head of the Metropolitan's Personal Secretariat Hieromonk Prokhor (Endovitsky), Key Keeper of the Kazan Cathedral in Almaty Priest Georgy Rublinsky, Protodeacon Nikolay Grinkevich, Head of the Metropolitan's Protocol Service Protodeacon Roman Golovin, Protodeacon Vladimir Syrovatsky, Deacon Pavel Kornienko.

The chants of the Liturgy were performed by the choir of the Church of the Exaltation of the Cross.

The following prayed during the service: parishioners of the church and residents of nearby settlements.

The sermon on the verse after communion was delivered by Priest Georgy Rublinsky.

At the end of the service, His Eminence addressed the faithful with a word of edification.

The head of the Metropolitan District sprinkled the congregation with holy water.
