On the day of remembrance of the Holy Fathers of the VII Ecumenical Council, Metropolitan Alexander celebrated the Liturgy in the church of the Representative Office of the Metropolitan District in Moscow

October 27, 2024 - the 18th week after Pentecost, a celebration in honor of the Holy Fathers of the VII Ecumenical Council.

Metropolitan Alexander of Astana and Kazakhstan celebrated the Divine Liturgy in the church of the Holy Martyrs Vera, Nadezhda, Lyubov and Sophia at the Patriarchal Metochion of the city of Moscow - Representative Office of the Kazakhstan Metropolitan District.

The archpastor was assisted by: the key keeper of the church of the Holy Martyrs Vera, Nadezhda, Lyubov and their mother Sophia, Hieromonk Anthony (Drobiazko), Archpriest Pavel Vishnevsky, Archpriest Andrei Pavlenko, candidate of theology, doctor of medical sciences, professor Hegumen Agafangel (Gagua); Hieromonk Viktorin (Aseyev), Hieromonk Cherubim (Levin), Deacon Anatoly Ledenev and Deacon Roman Frolov.

The liturgical chants were performed by the church choir under the direction of Anna Rozhnova.

The following prayed during the service: employees of the Representative Office of the Kazakhstan Metropolitan District, parishioners of the church, pilgrims, teachers and students of the Sunday school.

The sermon on the communion verse was delivered by Archpriest Pavel Vishnevsky.

At the end of the Liturgy, Metropolitan Alexander addressed the congregation with edification on the significance of the Seventh Ecumenical Council in the life of the Church of Christ.
