President of the Charitable Foundation of St. Euphrosyne of Moscow L.V. Gushchin was awarded a high award from the Kazakhstan Metropolitan District.

December 18, 2023. Moscow. At the Representative Office of the Kazakhstan Metropolitan District, at the Patriarchal Metochion at the Church of the Martyrs Faith, Hope, Love and Sophia, a meeting was held between Metropolitan Alexander of Astana and Kazakhstan with the President of the Charitable Foundation in Memory of St. Euphrosyne of Moscow Leonid Vitalievich Gushchin.

After exchanging greetings, the Metropolitan told the guest about the life of the Orthodox Church of Kazakhstan, which celebrated the 20th anniversary of its establishment in the past year, and the activities of the Moscow representation of the Metropolitan District.

In turn, L.V. Gushchin informed the hierarch about the work of the foundation and the social and educational projects currently being implemented, in particular, concerts and master classes in bell ringing.

For the development of relations between the Metropolitan District and the Foundation of St. Euphrosyne of Moscow, Leonid Vitalievich was awarded the Order of the Venerable Martyrs Seraphim and Theognostus of Alma-Ata. Presenting the award, Metropolitan Alexander noted that this year marks 30 years since the glorification of the ascetics of the land of Kazakhstan - Hieromonks Seraphim (Theologian) and Theognost (Pivovarov) as saints.

The president of the foundation warmly thanked the archpastor for the award and expressed hope for further development of cooperation.

During the conversation, the holding of cultural, spiritual and educational events in Kazakhstan with the participation of the St. Euphrosyne Foundation was discussed. Metropolitan Alexander informed the guest that the coming year is marked by the 140th anniversary of the birth of the venerable elder and confessor Sebastian of Karaganda and the 25th anniversary of the establishment of the Astana and Alma-Ata diocese.

As a blessing for his work, the Head of the Orthodox Church of Kazakhstan taught L.V. Gushchina icon of the prophet Elijah.

The Charitable Foundation in Memory of the Venerable Euphrosyne of Moscow was established on September 29, 2017 with the aim of carrying out charitable activities aimed at reviving, preserving and awakening moral values, the spiritual foundations of the unity of Orthodox peoples, Christian ideas of love, tolerance and good neighborliness between people of all nations. The charitable foundation supports cultural and community ties abroad, participates in the implementation of large-scale projects of religious and spiritual education and social charity.
