The annual educational event “Total Dictation” was held in the Petropavlovsk Diocese

March 16, 2024. Petropavlovsk. With the blessing of Archbishop Vladimir of Petropavlovsk and Bulaevsky, the annual educational event “Total Dictation” was held in the spiritual and administrative center at the Ascension Cathedral.
The organizer of the event dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the lifting of the siege of Leningrad was the department of religious education and catechesis of the Petropavlovsk diocese.
The competition was attended by: students of the Humanitarian and Technical College; students and teachers of the College of Arts - a specialized boarding school for gifted children with a musical and aesthetic profile, a secondary school named after St. Sergius of Radonezh, the First City General Education IT Lyceum, a secondary school-complex of national revival No. 17, a secondary school-complex of aesthetic education No. 8, secondary school No. 9, secondary school No. 43 named after Gabit Musrepov, secondary school No. 1, secondary school No. 4.
The age of the contestants who took part in the dictation ranged from 14 to 83 years.
The secretary of the diocese, Archpriest Sergius Pervushin, addressed the participants of the action with a welcoming speech.
Before the dictation began, those present were shown a documentary about besieged Leningrad.
More than 100 people volunteered to have their writing checked this year. The jury included philologists and teachers from schools in Petropavlovsk and the North Kazakhstan State University named after M. Kozybayev.
During the inspection of the works, artists from the regional philharmonic and Sunday school students performed in front of the crowd with a concert dedicated to the Great Patriotic War.
Based on the results of the intellectual competition, the following participants were recognized as winners and prize-winners.
I place - Zhumabaeva Bibinur Sarsenbaevna, 37 years old, parish of Matrona of Moscow, village. Karakoga;
II place - Tatyana Aleksandrovna Mukhamedzyanova, 40 years old; Ryzhenko Alena Sergeevna, 24 years old;
III place - Anikina Tatyana Vladimirovna, 63 years old; Petrova Natalya Valentinovna, 46 years old; Kostina Alexandra Vasilievna, 44 years old.
Certificates and valuable gifts were awarded to:
• in the nomination “Youngest participant” - Alexandra Evgenievna Fomina, 14 years old, KSU “First City General Educational IT Lyceum”;
• in the category “Honorary Participant” – Lukyanova Aida Khalimovna, 83 years old;
• cleric of the Petropavlovsk Cathedral, Deacon Pavel Orlov.
All other participants were awarded certificates.
The event ended with a joint tea party.
The “Total Dictation” project has been carried out since 2004 in Russia and the CIS countries. The main objective of the educational event is to attract public attention to literacy issues and develop a culture of literate writing.
