Bishop Gennady of Kaskelen met with representatives of the Astana Orthodox youth movement

On March 23, 2024, at the spiritual and cultural center named after Equal-to-the-Apostles Cyril and Methodius in Astana, a meeting was held between the manager of the affairs of the Kazakhstan Metropolitan District, Bishop Gennady of Kaskele and representatives of the Astana Orthodox youth movement.

The Bishop gave a lecture to the audience, presenting the main milestones in the history of the Russian Orthodox Church. The archpastor spoke in detail about the periodization of Russian church history, the features of each stage, as well as the problem of dating the time of the baptism of Equal-to-the-Apostles Grand Duke Vladimir.

At the end of the lecture, Bishop Gennady read by heart a poem by A.K. Tolstoy “History of the Russian State from Gostomysl to Timashev.”

At the end of the speech, His Eminence talked with the young people and answered their questions.
