The visit of Metropolitan Alexander of Astana and Kazakhstan to the Kostanay diocese has begun

On March 29, 2024, Metropolitan Alexander of Astana and Kazakhstan arrived on an archpastoral visit to the Kostanay diocese of the Kazakhstan Metropolitan District.
The head of the Orthodox Church of Kazakhstan is accompanied on the trip by: the head of the Metropolitan’s personal secretariat, Hieromonk Prokhor (Endovitsky), Protodeacon Vladimir Syrovatsky, Protodeacon Alexander Mokiy, Deacon Alexander Piven and Deacon Sergiy Slesarchuk.
At the airport, the Metropolitan was met by the Secretary of the Kostanay Diocese, Hieromonk Gennady (Burdyuzha) and the Head of the Department of Religious Affairs of the Kostanay Region, E.O. Temyonov.
For prayerful worship and spiritual support of believers during the days of Great Lent, the archpastor delivered to the Kostanay diocese a great shrine of Orthodoxy - an ark with part of the relics of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker, Archbishop of Myra in Lycia.
During his conversation with Erlan Olzhabayevich, which took place upon the arrival of the Head of the Metropolitan District, the hierarch spoke about the life of the Orthodox Church of Kazakhstan and his participation in the meeting of the Holy Synod of the Russian Orthodox Church, which took place on March 12.
Metropolitan Alexander and E.O. Temenov discussed issues of interaction between the Kostanay diocese and the Department of Religious Affairs of the Kostanay region, which in mutual opinion, will help strengthen interethnic peace and interfaith harmony in society.
On the same day, a meeting between the archpastor and the diocesan clergy took place.
