A festival of Lenten cuisine took place in the Uralsk diocese

April 15, 2024. Uralsk With the blessing of Bishop Vianor of the Uralsk and Atyrau, the Vth Lenten Cuisine Festival took place, in which cooks from city churches took part.

The goal of the culinary forum is to familiarize residents and guests of the city with the age-old traditions of observing the Holy Pentecost and familiarize themselves with ancient recipes for Lenten dishes.

Before the start of the festival, Bishop Vianor addressed those present with a welcoming speech.

Next, spiritual chants were performed by the children's choir of the diocese under the direction of Nina Kroitor.

During the festival, teams from city churches presented a variety of Lenten dishes from many national cuisines and also prepared creative performances with original costumes.

The festival was graced by performances by the Nikolushka spoon-playing ensemble and children's creative groups.

Representatives of the jury noted all the forum participants. The teams were awarded diplomas and valuable prizes.

After the official part, all those present were invited to the tables. At the end of the meal, those who wished were able to receive recipes for the dishes they liked.
