Pupils of the Nevsky sports club won eleven medals at the Republican tournament in free-style wrestling among young men

On June 17-18, 2024, the Republican tournament in free-style wrestling among senior and junior young men was held in Alma-Ata.

With the blessing of Metropolitan Alexander of Astana and Kazakhstan, pupils of the sports club in the name of the holy blessed prince Alexander Nevsky at the Nikolsky Cathedral of the Southern capital took part in the competition. The head and coach of the club is Deacon Alexander Voronin.

Juniors from Alma-Ata and the Alma-Ata region took part in the event, performing in several weight categories.

Following the results of the tournament, the guys from the Nevsky club took prize places. The winners were:

• Feshchenko Nazar, Ramazan Zhakyp, Vyskrebov Stepan - gold medal;
• Voronin Ioann, Feshchenko Bogdan, Sabirov Ratmir, Khadirov Ibrahim – silver medal;
• Sobolev Aleksey, Khadirov Ismatulla, Tikhomirov Nikolay – bronze medal.

Earlier at the Republican Freestyle Wrestling Tournament, held on June 11-12, Stepan Vyskrebov, a pupil of the Nevsky Sports Club, won a gold medal.
