Celebrations in honor of the main shrine of Rudny Altai - the Znamensko-Abalatskaya Icon of the Mother of God - took place in the Ust-Kamenogorsk Diocese (+VIDEO)

On July 21, 2024, on the 4th week after Pentecost, celebrations dedicated to the main shrine of Rudny Altai - the Znamensko-Abalatskaya Icon of the Mother of God - took place in the Ust-Kamenogorsk Diocese.

At the Holy Spring near Semipalatinsk, where the miraculous discovery of the image of the Queen of Heaven took place in 1740, the Divine Liturgy was celebrated, led by Archbishop Amfilohiy of Ust-Kamenogorsk and Semipalatinsk.

His Eminence was co-served by: Dean of the Semipalatinsk Church District Archpriest Yevgeny Yaganov, Dean of the Ust-Kamenogorsk Church District Hieromonk Silouan (Magilev), Key Bearer of the St. Andrew's Cathedral in Ust-Kamenogorsk Hieromonk Nikodim (Avdeyev), and clergy of the Ust-Kamenogorsk and Semipalatinsk Diocese.

Numerous pilgrims and parishioners of churches in Eastern Kazakhstan prayed during the service.

The chants of the feast of the Most Holy Theotokos were performed by the choir of the Resurrection Cathedral under the direction of choirmaster Yu. Khokhryakova.

After the service, the archpastor, the clergy, and the worshipers performed a glorification of the Most Holy Theotokos, after which the hierarch addressed the pilgrims with the words of a sermon.
