October 19, 2024. Alma-Ata. Metropolitan Alexander of Astana and Kazakhstan had a meeting with participants of the scientific and practical conference "Regent Service in the Orthodox Church of Kazakhstan. The Path to Mastery."

The meeting took place in the fireplace hall of the administrative and spiritual-cultural center of the Kazakhstan Metropolitan District named after Metropolitan Joseph (Chernov).

The meeting was attended by: Deputy Chairman of the Church and Public Council for the Development of Russian Church Singing, Artistic Director of the Moscow Synodal Choir, Honored Artist of Russia A.A. Puzakov; Regent of the Choir of the Moscow Epiphany Cathedral in Yelokhovo, Lecturer in the Department of Choral Conducting of the V.S. Popov Academy of Choral Art A.K. Mayorov; Candidate of Philosophical Sciences, author of the channel "Takim Obrazom" S.T. Kruglikov.

The participants of the meeting included the Secretary of the Kazakhstan Metropolitan District, Honored Artist of Russia, member of the Patriarchal Council for the Development of Russian Church Singing O.N. Ovchinnikov; Acting Rector of the Alma-Ata Theological Seminary, Head of the Information Department of the Metropolitan District Archpriest Evgeny Ivanov; Head of the Personal Secretariat of the Metropolitan Hieromonk Prokhor (Endovitsky); Head of the Administrative Secretariat of the Head of the Metropolitan District Priest Georgy Sidorov; Honored Worker of Culture, Head of the Culture Department of the Kazakhstan Metropolitan District L.E. Goricheva.

The Primate of the Orthodox Church of Kazakhstan shared with the guests information about the main events in the life of the Astana and Alma-Ata Diocese, celebrating the 25th anniversary of its establishment, spoke about the implementation of church social, charitable, educational and youth projects and the activities of the Alma-Ata Orthodox Theological Seminary. In recognition of the work on the revival and strengthening of church singing traditions, the Head of the Metropolitan District awarded medals of St. Sophony, Archbishop of Turkestan and Tashkent, enlightener of Semirechye: deputy chairman of the Church and Public Council for the Development of Russian Church Singing, artistic director of the Moscow Synodal Choir, Honored Artist of Russia A.A. Puzakov; choirmaster of the Moscow Epiphany Cathedral in Yelokhovo, lecturer of the choral conducting department of the V.S. Popov Academy of Choral Art A.K. Mayorov; candidate of philosophical sciences, author of the channel "Takim Obrazom" S.T. Kruglikov.

The head of the Metropolitan district wished the awardees gracious help from the Lord in carrying out responsible obediences and presented them with a blessing for their work publications, which are telling about the life of Orthodoxy in Kazakhstan, and music discs with recordings of the metropolitan choir under the direction of Honored Artist of Russia O.N. Ovchinnikov.

The guests expressed words of gratitude to the bishop for the high church signs of attention, noted the worthy level of the scientific and practical conference and shared with the hierarch good impressions from visiting the shrines of the Astana and Alma-Ata diocese and getting to know the sights of the Southern capital.
