
The Head of the Metropolitan District met with the President of the Eurasian Foundation of Culture E.M. Kanapyanov

December 10, 2024. Almaty. In the building of the spiritual, cultural and administrative center of the Kazakhstan Metropolitan District named after Metropolitan Joseph (Chernov), a meeting was held between Metropolitan Alexander of Astana and Kazakhstan and the President of the Eurasian Foundation of Culture Erulan Musakhanovich Kanapyanov.
E.M. Kanapyanov is a famous composer, member of the Union of Composers of Kazakhstan, public figure and philanthropist, General Director of the International Ballet Festival "Prize of Traditions", President of the Altyn Adam Foundation, founder of the International Choreographic Competition "Orleu", member of the Board of Trustees of the Kazakh National Academy of Arts named after T.K. Zhurgenova, member of the board of trustees of the Alma-Ata College of Music named after P. Tchaikovsky, member of the board of trustees of the Alma-Ata Choreographic School named after A. Seleznev.
The meeting was attended by: Acting Rector of the Alma-Ata Orthodox Theological Seminary Archpriest Evgeny Ivanov, Vice-Rector for Educational Work of the Theological School Priest John Livinsky, Secretary of the Eurasian Cultural Foundation E. Parfentyeva.
After exchanging greetings, Metropolitan Alexander told the guest about the life and work of the Orthodox Church of Kazakhstan, especially highlighting the cultural and spiritual-educational projects carried out under the auspices of the Metropolitan District.
Erulan Musakhanovich presented His Eminence with information on the work of the Eurasian Foundation of Culture, created in December 2004 to establish, improve and expand cultural cooperation between institutions, organizations and cultural figures, and to promote the cultural heritage and traditions of the Eurasian people.
The Primate of the Orthodox Church of Kazakhstan and E.M. Kanapyanov discussed issues of interaction between the Department of Culture of the Metropolitan District and the Eurasian Foundation of Culture.
Erulan Musakhanovich presented a diploma and a personal scholarship of the Eurasian Foundation of Culture to first-year seminary student Gleb Bogdanov, who demonstrated excellent results in mastering the subjects taught and took an active part in organizing and holding cultural and educational events.
At the end of the meeting, which took place in a friendly atmosphere, the parties exchanged good wishes. The hierarch presented the guest with his scientific work, “Christianity in Central Asia,” the latest issue of the scientific and theological journal “Theological Herald,” and a calendar of the Metropolitan District for 2025. E.M. Kanapyanov presented the archpastor with his book of documentary stories and essays, “The Universe of Destiny.”
