The Head of the Metropolitan District met with the Akim of the city of Rudny, V.N. Ionenko

April 4, 2025. Rudny. After the Divine Liturgy in the Cathedral of St. John the Theologian, a meeting was held between Metropolitan Alexander of Astana and Kazakhstan and the Akim of the city, V.N. Ionenko.
The meeting was attended by the Secretary of the Kostanay Diocese, Hieromonk Gennady (Burduzha).
After exchanging greetings, Viktor Nikolaevich thanked the archpastor for the visit and expressed gratitude for his special attention to the life of Orthodox believers in the Kostanay region.
During the conversation, the Akim acquainted Metropolitan Alexander with the life of the city and the activities of the largest enterprise in Kazakhstan for the extraction and enrichment of iron ore - the Sokolovsko-Sarbai Mining and Processing Association, located near the borders of Rudny. V.N. Ionenko noted that, as part of the socio-economic development of the region, a large-scale modernization of the plant is planned, which will increase the volume of mineral extraction and bring their processing to a qualitatively new level.
The hierarch told Viktor Nikolaevich about the upcoming Primate's visit to Kazakhstan of the Primate of the Russian Orthodox Church, His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Rus', who will arrive in Astana at the invitation of the head of state K.-Zh.K. Tokayev to participate in the VIII Congress of World and Traditional Religions.
A separate topic of the meeting was issues related to the interaction of the city administration with the Kostanay Diocese of the Metropolitan District in the framework of joint cultural and educational projects. The interlocutors discussed the holding of public and church events dedicated to the celebration of the 15th anniversary of the establishment of the Kostanay and Rudny Diocese.
At the end of the conversation, which took place in a friendly atmosphere, Metropolitan Alexander and V.I. Ionenko wished each other health and success in their work.
