The evening theological courses at the Central Sunday School have completed the first half of the year

December 22, 2023. Alma-Ata. With the blessing of Metropolitan Alexander of Astana and Kazakhstan, the final lesson of the first half of the 2023-2024 academic year was held at the evening theological courses for the laity at the Central Sunday School of St. Nicholas Cathedral.

The event was led by Bishop Gennady of Kaskelen, Administrator of the Orthodox Church of Kazakhstan.

The meeting was attended by the director of the Central Sunday School G.V. Cherepanova, teachers L.M. Gizatullina, Deacon Andrey Plakhuta, L.Z. Alexandrovich, P.Yu. Dzekanov.

The archpastor gave a lecture to the audience, during which he spoke about the history of the Baptism of Rus'. In particular, the hierarch described the historical era and sources testifying to this glorious event. At the conclusion of his speech, His Eminence touched upon the topic of preaching Christian truths in the realities of the modern world.

At the end of the report, the bishop answered questions from the audience, also wished the listeners to continue their studies with unflagging zeal and congratulated those present on the upcoming holiday of the Nativity of Christ.
