On the day of remembrance of the blessed prince Alexander Nevsky and the reverend Alexander of Svir, Metropolitan Alexander celebrated the Liturgy at the Representative Office of the Metropolitan District in Moscow

September 12, 2024 is the day of remembrance of the blessed grand prince Alexander Nevsky and the reverend Alexander of Svir.

Metropolitan Alexander of Astana and Kazakhstan, who prayerfully celebrates his name day on the feast of the holy prince Alexander Nevsky and the reverend Alexander of Svir, celebrated the Divine Liturgy in the church in the name of the holy martyrs Vera, Nadezhda, Lyubov and Sophia at the Patriarchal Metochion of the city of Moscow - the Representative Office of the Kazakhstan Metropolitan District.

His Eminence was assisted by: Abbot of the St. George Meshchovsky Monastery, Archimandrite Georgy (Evdachev) (Kaluga Metropolitanate), cleric of the Representative Office, Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor Hegumen Agafangel (Gagua); cleric of the Krutitsy Patriarchal Metochion of the City of Moscow, Archpriest Sergiy Shastin, assistant to the Head of the Metropolitan District, Hieromonk Anthony (Drobiazko) and clergy of the Metochion.

The church choir under the direction of Anna Rozhnova performed the liturgical hymns.

The following prayed at the Liturgy: Governor of the Tomsk Region V.V. Mazur, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the National Center for Assistance to Missing and Exploited Children, General Director of the St. Basil the Great Foundation E.I. Milskaya; employees of the Representative Office, founders of the Patriarchal Metochion, and parishioners of the church.

The service ended with the glorification of the faithful Prince Alexander Nevsky and the Venerable Alexander of Svir.

A long life was proclaimed to the Primate of the Russian Orthodox Church, His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Rus'; the Head and Episcopate of the Kazakhstan Metropolitan District; the President of the country K.-Zh.K. Tokayev; the authorities, army and peoples of Kazakhstan and Russia.

Hieromonk Anthony (Drobiazko) read out the greeting address of the Primate of the Russian Orthodox Church on the occasion of the name day of Metropolitan Alexander.

The head of the Kazakhstan Metropolitan District expressed words of gratitude for the good wishes and asked those present in the church for special prayers for the sending of God's gracious help in serving the Church of Christ, after which he congratulated the clergy and parishioners on the day of remembrance of the great saints - the faithful prince Alexander Nevsky and the reverend Alexander Svirsky.
