November 1, 2024. Petropavlovsk. The relics of the holy blessed nun Matrona of Moscow, visiting Kazakhstan with the blessing of His Holiness Kirill, Patriarch of Moscow and All Rus', have arrived in the Petropavlovsk diocese.

The relics were delivered by Bishop Claudian of Taldykorgan, Vicar of the Astana diocese.

The delivery of the relics is supported by the Apostol public foundation, headed by President G.G. Sosnovsky.

The visit is timed to coincide with historical dates - the 25th anniversary of the formation of the Astana and Alma-Ata diocese, the upcoming 15th anniversary of the approval of the canonical status of the Metropolitan District.

From the airport, the ark with the relics of Blessed Matrona was transported to the Ascension Cathedral, where the revered relic was met by clergy and numerous believers.

To the singing of the troparion to the righteous woman "the blessed nun Matrona, wise in God," the relics were brought under the vaults of the cathedral and installed in the center of the church.

Archbishop Vladimir of Petropavlovsk and Bulaev led the service, at which the following prayed: vicar of the Astana diocese Bishop Klavdian of Taldykorgan, secretary of the diocesan administration Archpriest Sergiy Pervushin, rector of the Methodius Church in Petropavlovsk Priest Mikhail Berezina, key keeper of the Church of All Saints in the Northern capital Priest Antony Shuvakin, head of the diocesan department for prison ministry Hieromonk Seraphim (Maksimov), Priest Maxim Abdulkhasanov, Protodeacon Alexander Mokiy, Deacon Vladimir Bartol, Deacon Alexei Alexandrovich, Deacon Rustik Yakubov.

The liturgical hymns were performed by the bishop's choir under the direction of choirmaster A.A. Zatai.

At the end of the service, the administrator of the Petropavlovsk diocese congratulated those gathered on the significant event - the bringing of the relics of the blessed nun Matrona to the capital of Northern Kazakhstan.

Then the worship of the relics by the faithful began. Throughout the entire time of the stay of the relics of the saint of Christ in the main church of the Petropavlovsk diocese, prayers with akathists to the saint will be held.
The relic will be in the Petropavlovsk diocese from November 1 to 3.
